core (CSH2-5 - 1.5d)
The Critical Systems Heuristics (CSH) core modules are designed for those relatively new to systems thinking and provides training in modelling organisational or institutional situations using CSH. You’ll develop an understanding of problematic situations, following a structured approach, with a series of steps to take you through required concepts and modelling. Examples and case study materials used are based on real organisational and global issues; the module provides a platform for developing the skills needed to take normal organisational information, show how that relates to CSH, and how the method can provide a set of new insights into a situation.
The training is self-paced and requires 6-hours, including the workshop activity, which is best conducted in a group or with a colleague. This module should allow you to gain practical skills in using CSH to diagnose boundary issues within problematic situations and their systems of interest; able to:
- Understand, in 4 stages, the drivers of: Motivation, Control, Knowledge, and Legitimacy,
- Apply As-Is and Ought-to-be critical analysis,
- Apply systemic distinctions between those involved and affected.
