Using a personal VSM to introduce managers to the VSM

The VSM can often provide a manager with new insights and understanding of their options. However, the language and structure of the VSM needs careful guidance for a manager new to applying the VSM to their own context.

Allenna Leonard used a personal construct of the VSM to help students to understand the model and its apparent complexity.  This presentation will outline how her approach was successfully used in a short research study to introduce a group of busy managers in an organisation in turmoil to the model and use it to interrogate their organisational domain through the VSM lens.
