This pre-recorded course of 1h 48 minutes plus exercises originally took a 3h half-day to work through.

Collaboration & Communication in Interventions introduces a process, tools, techniques and the skills required to collaborate and communicate with multiple stakeholders in an intervention.  It considers situations where collaboration is either essential or beneficial (i.e., in contrast to cooperation and co-creation as alternative ways of working in teams), how to avoid and overcome common challenges to effective collaboration, and a set of key success factors. This is drawn together as a simplified four-step process, to assist in collaborating successfully with others within an intervention.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn how to approach a situation to determine its relative complexity and where a collaborative intervention approach is required.
  • Define the behaviours necessary to support collaboration.
  • Learn how to plan and set up a successful collaboration in an intervention.
  • Learn an approach and some techniques for managing a successful collaborative intervention, including: creating the right environment; setting clear direction; and communicating clearly.
  • Reflect on how collaboration fits with learning from other modules and how this should best be applied to their real-world interventions in their workplace.

The training is facilitated by Simon MacCormac, a systems thinking practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience.
