Humanising Systems - workshop at SysPrac25
The workshop “Humanizing Systems” invited participants to explore how organizations can shift from a mechanistic focus on efficiency toward regenerative ways of working. Drawing on your book Humanizing the Corporation: A Regenerative Leadership Playbook, Jan introduced how systems theory and developmental science reveal that collaboration emerges not from alignment alone, but from the dynamic interplay of tensions such as autonomy–cohesion and stability–diversity. Through interactive exercises, participants experienced how regenerative organizations cultivate these tensions rather than suppress them, allowing new forms of collaborative intelligence to surface. Jan emphasized that true change comes not from restructuring alone but from transforming the conversations that hold systems in place. In essence, the workshop was about equipping leaders to humanize systems by designing for regeneration—creating organizations that enhance well-being for people, communities, and nature.
